Homabay County is located in the South Nyanza region of Kenya, along the southern shores of Lake Victoria. The county covers an area of approximately 3,183.3 km square, with a population of about 1.3 million people.

The county of Homabay neighbors five other counties namely: Migori County to the South, Kisii County and Nyamira County to the East, and Kericho County and Kisumu County to the North East. One can easily access the county by either lake transport, road and or air (the Kabunde Airstrip was recently renovated and currently opened for commercial flights. Its headquarter is in Homabay town.
