Tourism Stakeholders in Western Kenya to Support the Upcoming FAM Trip

Tourism stakeholders from across Western Kenya gathered today at Sovereign Hotel to discuss among other things a working consensus for promoting the region as a block.

The attendees also agreed to support the upcoming familiarization trip in April this year.

The FAM trip is supposed to open the western region of Kenya and showcase the products, attractions and opportunities in this region of Kenya.

The event was well attended having tour operators, tour guides, home stay owners, hotel managers, bar/pub owners as well as marketers attend the event.

The team behind the Western Kenya initiative explained that this is just the beginning of many more lineup of events planned to showcase the region in major international platforms and expos.

There’ll also be an overseas tour operators who’ll be visiting the region in September 2019, thus being an eye opener of the region to more international guests.

Various hotels have even offered to provide accommodation nights to the travel agents coming next month.

The event was also graced by the Tourism Director, Migori County and also Tourism Officer Siaya County.
